Re: Japanese Pizza
OMG they put different toppings on their pizza?!

Sheesh, this is so 1991. When I was teaching English over there, I once overheard the teacher at the table next to me ranting about the horrors of corn on pizza - to students who were paying a lot of money to learn English, not to learn what their teacher felt was an offensive to his "food sensibilities". Seriously, WTF? The whole idea of pizza is it's an edible plate, upon which you put stuff you think will taste good. Bake and eat. I hate anchovies, someone else hates corn. Fine, go half and half, don't go complaining just because someone else has the capability to go beyond your own personal 'comfort zone' where food is concerned.

Re: Japanese Pizza
I like the pictures. Japan is still great for me. Although my world in the USA has changed, my new home of 18 years in the country side of eastern Kyushu, Nobeoka suits me just fine.

Great site! I was throwing around the idea of doing this myself. You've definitely inspired me - beautiful pics and a beautiful country. Shame Tokyo is such a concrete mess.

Re: Japanese Pizza
I lived in Japan for seven years. Found my wife there and had two kids there as well. I am living in the states now and miss Japanese food a lot! My wife tries to cook Japanese food here but getting the ingrediants is tough. One of the things we miss is Pizza La seafood pizza. So, I did a search and found your site. Thanks a bunch! I will try to recreate some of our favorite pizza as best as I can. Even the potato-mayo corn stuff that my wife loves. The info on your web page will help me a lot.

By the way, I lived in MITAKA-SHI for most of the seven years I was there. I loved it! Too bad I could only work on contract there...........

Re: Japanese Pizza
Being a New Yorker, who has spent much of my life working and commuting to Manhattan (though I live in Brooklyn- where we KNOW how to make authentic american style brick oven pizza to perfection] I have seen many of these combinations before-though the mayonaise ones I certainly have not-but I have seen all of these ingrediants offered in japanese, and asian fusion style restaurants sans the pizza. Manhattanites tend to have one of the widest palates you will find around due to the fact that the people who both live and set up shop here come from all over the world. I can definately see someone making a pizza restaurant like this here that takes off for sure! Especially if you add in more of the cow grazing high fiber variety ingrediants as some of the pizza options. I for one would like to try almost all of these, I find trying new foods to be an an interesting and often rewarding experience, and at worst if its downright awful I can always order something else. But then again that's just my opinion : )

Re: Japan by Motorcycle
Love the site. I have always wanted to visit Japan, and recently started planning a trip. I was poking around for a cheap way to visit the country (considering Guest Houses or YH's) and found your site. (I had search for Japan Motorcycle Trip")... Because I currently ride and that sounds like a really great time. Your site is exactly what I was looking for. Reading about your journey was very entertaining and I read through the whole thing in one sitting. I'm even more excited to try something like this now. Thanks so much for sharing your trip!!
